As a part of the Marketing team you will be the responsible marketing country manager for South Africa and you will manage the success of our platforms, Locanto and Yalwa, in South Africa, which is one of the most important and successful markets for us. You will work closely with both the Product and Development teams for the execution and prioritization of projects. You will also bring a market-focused perspective to the product team as they build new ad products.

Your Profile

Drive key short- and long-term growth initiatives with product and development teams for the platforms, Locanto and Yalwa, in South Africa
Drive the strategic planning process for short term (annual) as well as long-term Advertising business
Acquire new content and negotiate partner deals
Manage promotions to attract new users

Your tasks

Degree in Business/Marketing or a related subject
2 years of work experience in online services / digital media / online advertising space
English and Afrikaans native speaker
Strong understanding of the online advertising business and the key associated trends in South Africa
Understanding of Product Management and Product Development processes
Outstanding communication skills
Proactive work ethic, Structured thinking and overall approach
Quick perception, a structured work approach, and high degree of self motivation

As Communications Specialist you’ll be the first contact for all communication related topics on site: internal communication, external communication, and marketing activities. Together with our Product and Marketing departments, you’ll be responsible for the further development of our platforms and develop targeted communication campaigns to make Locanto and Yalwa more attractive to our users. Your Tasks

Supporting the on- and offsite optimization of our English-speaking websites (Locanto and Yalwa) through:

Conception of on-site marketing campaigns and conversion-driven copy in English: calls to action, banners, landing pages, etc.
Creation and optimization of web copy and product-related text for our platforms. Support in the development of effective product and feature specifications
From concept to execution, creation of marketing content across a wide variety of external communications channels: blog articles, email marketing and other PR copy
Brand reputation management, proactively seeking out opportunities to build awareness around various networks
Social media presence management, including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube
Translations from German to English and localization for our English-speaking countries

Your Profile

University degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field
English at a native level and good command of German, knowledge of other languages is an advantage
Exceptional communication and writing skills, as well as the ability to develop message and media strategies for key segments
Enthusiasm for the online market and a distinctive affinity for the internet
High level of creativity coupled with organizational skills
Team player with high commitment and initiative, who likes to take responsibility

Job Requirements

You will work during the weekends and take the second shift every Thursday and Friday.
