You want to be a part of an exciting travel startup in Berlin? You’ll develop components for our website and backend systems based on best practices and with the latest standards. You will be learning and working with a highly motivated team of professionals in a dynamic startup environment. You bring deep knowledge in developing scalable projects with PHP frameworks, good experience in frontend development (jQuery, CSS), and most important, a constant drive for learning and improving. You don’t have to speak German, only English is required.

What will you be doing?

• Implement requirements in our backend systems, on the website & in our tourbuildr application
• Define requirement details, provide estimations and communicate results
• Determine and develop appropriate solutions based on best practices
• Continuously improve technical knowledge and interaction with all other team members
• Improve performance through intelligent caching, optimization of the database structure, etc.
• Gather, analyze & visualize data for the team to take better decisions
• Build tests (unit tests, functional tests, user interface tests) to keep the project easily maintainable
• Implement graphical concepts for multiple platforms, browsers and devices (including mobile devices)

What should you have?

• Fun and motivation at work and at learning new things in an international team
• Clean coding style
• Excellent experience with building robust, scalable applications with a modern PHP framework, such as Symfony and Laravel
• Good knowledge in relational database systems
• Good experience with jQuery, HTML & CSS
• Solution focused (positive) attitude and ability to work independently
• Openness to change
• Fluent English (office language is English)
• Experience with the following fields is a plus: AngularJs applications, Server Administration, Configuring Varnish
