Hi, my name is Fernando. I’m a Brazilian expat working and living in Germany. I work as a partner manager at Nevaly which is a marketing company which works with content creators and is completely focused on games. I’ve been working for almost a year here and living in Berlin for a year and a half more or less.

What brought me to Germany

I always used to work in the games industry in Brazil, and I wanted to have a new challenge – go somewhere where the games industry was bigger, so I moved here to Germany with my wife who is also in the games industry. Berlin has a great startup tech scene, so it’s a great place to be.

My experience searching for a job in Germany

Internet is your best friend, especially if you want to go into the tech industry and work in a startup. In Berlin tech startups are your best chance if you don’t speak German.

My #1 tip for expat jobseekers in Germany

Just go online, look at LinkedIn, look at specific German networks for finding jobs like Xing. Go online, look it up, send your resumes, you’ll get a lot of No’s but eventually it works out.
